📢 Sunday English meetup — decisions on future direction
With the organizers and core members who keep Jeju English Club running, we reviewed the current state of the meetup and discussed how to operate it going forward.
The Sunday meetup has been running as a pilot under the name “Jeju Toastmasters,” and it has become a valuable time for members to share their wide-ranging expertise and engage in in-depth discussions.
However, as the pilot period extended, the format drifted away from the original presentation-and-role-focused structure toward more small talk and socializing. That made the meetup’s character less clear and sometimes made it harder for new members to join conversations or feel comfortable returning.
We decided it’s time to clarify the meetup’s purpose and operation, so we gathered members’ input and agreed on the following direction.
💡 Key agenda items and final decisions
- Official Toastmasters club launch (✅ selected)
If about seven core members passionate about English self-improvement and active community participation form a group, we will establish and run an official club in Jeju.

Convert to a free-talking meeting format

Close the Sunday meetup and consolidate meetings to Fridays
📌 As a result of the discussion, members agreed to move forward with launching the official "Jeju Toastmasters" club.
We will share detailed operation and participation information once the leadership team is formed. Thank you sincerely to everyone who contributed their time and commitment to personal English growth and the development of a meaningful English community in Jeju.
